In Tribute to Various Folk Named Low(e)ry: a Favourite Primary School Teacher, a CORSO Stalwart, and an American Pastor with Impeccable Civil Rights Credentials

In reverse order, may I simply say that I feel some recognition is due, as per #*'Reverend' Joseph Lowery, for his impeccable record in the American Civil Rights Movement - however much I doubtless see things rather differently as per same-sex marriage and the LGBT 'movement'.  He was the person who apparently gave the prayer and benediction at then President-Elect Barack Obama's inauguration, the one such inauguration I greatly regretted not being in attendance at... #Walter Lowry, one-time local activist in 'CORSO', a Christian organisation that oftentimes got right up the nasal cavities of a former New Zealand Prime Minister Sir Robert 'Piggy' Muldoon, essentially for supporting African aid 'outfits' which implicitly (or tacitly) condoned the use of violence to achieve their objectives. Damn the Dam - I Care...

...for the world that's given me: *songs for the singing *life for the living Yes, I care, I really care...well, I care... In triple-fold tribute to *John Hanlon, singer-songwriter extraordinaire...the Manapouri protest(er)s 50 years ago the other day...and a woman who lived and breathed environmentalism in action, the late co-leader of the NZ Greens, Jeanette Fitzsimons, who, just like her fellow co-leader Rod Donald, on that fateful day way back in late 2005, around November 4th or 5th, equally suddenly and unexpectedly vacated this life... *Who of course created the two above songs, apparently (in the former instance) just as a bit of an advertising promotion (for some company he was then working for)... ...around the time of those fateful protests in and around the raising of Manapouri, which evidently, following the presentation of a (literally) huge petition to the footsteps of Parliament, resulted in the then Labour Opposition under the late great Norm Kirk riding...
