Damn the Dam - I Care...

...for the world that's given me:
*songs for the singing
*life for the living

Yes, I care, I really care...well, I care...

In triple-fold tribute to *John Hanlon, singer-songwriter extraordinaire...the Manapouri protest(er)s 50 years ago the other day...and a woman who lived and breathed environmentalism in action, the late co-leader of the NZ Greens, Jeanette Fitzsimons, who, just like her fellow co-leader Rod Donald, on that fateful day way back in late 2005, around November 4th or 5th, equally suddenly and unexpectedly vacated this life...

*Who of course created the two above songs, apparently (in the former instance) just as a bit of an advertising promotion (for some company he was then working for)...

...around the time of those fateful protests in and around the raising of Manapouri, which evidently, following the presentation of a (literally) huge petition to the footsteps of Parliament, resulted in the then Labour Opposition under the late great Norm Kirk riding on the crest of this (among other things) to a landslide victory...upon which Manapouri was duly protected (for time immemorial)...
