NOT ('sorry to see ya go'), But, On the Contrary: Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish (Pun Entirely Unintended, Yet Oh So Apropos): Regarding Rio Tinto(Formerly Comalco)'s Latest Threat to Permanently Close the Tiwai Point Aluminium Smelter: As Per the Sentiment of NZ Greenpeace Head and Former Greens Co-leader Russel Norman This Morning, and as Well Expressed by Newstalk ZB's Drivetime Host Heather Du Plessis Allan Today, 'Not a Good Corporate Citizen' (as Witnessed in the Contamination (in Some Silo) They Left Mataura Residents To Deal With (Following Record Flooding))

Though admittedly I was mistaken in the Cover Story I wrote 'back in the day' (in 1978) as a 14-year-old reporter upon my high school's student newspaper Mercury, entitled 'Sodium Fluoride: Panacea or Poison',

when I suggested that the entrails (so to speak) of aluminium production at the Bluff smelter was the product used for water fluoridation here in Dunedin and throughout New Zealand...

...whereas today I understand that to be rather the residue of the local (Ravensbourne-based) Ravensdown Fertilizer Works (though doubtless such a claim would be disputed by our Dental School here).
